Fees and Scheduling Information

I offer a free phone consultation to give you a chance to ask questions, better understand how I work, and decide if you think we are a good fit.

55-minute sessions are $120.  Often, people come once a week (or every other week).  We can also arrange longer sessions, if you prefer.

I accept cash, checks, and most credit cards.

Generally, I schedule appointments Monday through Wednesday.

Insurance Information
If you have a PPO or POS plan and your insurance covers 'out-of-network providers', your insurance might reimburse you for part of my fee.

I am not on any insurance panels (‘in network’).

Health insurance is usually diagnosis-driven, meaning that your insurance may cover therapy only if you (or your child) have certain diagnoses or if you are getting a particular type of treatment (i.e., insurance may not cover family therapy, couples therapy, therapy without a diagnosis, or therapy for uninsured diagnoses).

If you want to be reimbursed by your insurance company, please let me know that at the beginning of therapy.  I do request payment at the time of service.  I will give you a receipt that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

Questions to ask your insurance company:

Does my policy cover out-of-network providers for mental health counseling?

Does my policy cover Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists?

Does my policy cover child therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, individual adult therapy, etc.?

Do I or my child (the person being seen by the therapist) need a diagnosis for the therapy to be covered?  If so, what diagnoses are covered?

What is the reimbursement rate for mental health coverage?  (often different than physical health coverage)

What is my deductible?

How many sessions per calendar year are covered?

Is pre-approval necessary?

I cannot guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you for therapy, but these questions should give you more information about your coverage.
